Trowel broke mid-pour on a 6,000 square foot slab in Austin last Tuesday
The handle snapped clean off my $40 magnesium float right as I was finishing the bull float pass, so I had to switch to a leftover plastic edger and make it work, anyone else ever have their tool give out at the worst possible moment?

Man, that’s a rough one! I had a trowel handle snap clean off while I was trying to finish the edge on a big driveway last summer. Had to finish with a weird wooden float I borrowed from the guy next door, looked like a hack job but hey it worked. @elliotjenkins is totally right, cheap tools will leave you hanging when you need them most. Nothing like scrambling with a broken tool to remind you to buy the good stuff next time, right?
