TIL our site's fire riser room door was holding up a wall, literally

I was doing a walkthrough on a retail build in Boise last Tuesday and noticed the fire riser room door didn't line up with the frame. Turns out the GC's crew framed the wall 2 inches off the mark back in week 3, and the door was actually carrying the top plate. The inspector caught it before drywall, but I did the math and a 3-hour fix saved us a $14,000 rework down the road. Has anyone else found a weird structural shortcut that somehow passed for weeks?
