Dropped $2,800 on a laser level for our Tilt-Up job in Reno, worth every penny
We were setting embeds on a 200,000 sq ft warehouse and my old rotary level was giving us fits. Bought a Topcon RL-H5A laser for around $2,800 and it paid for itself in the first week just from not having to redo layout. The superintendent who swore by string lines ate his words when we shot 40 columns in a single morning. What's the most you've dropped on a single tool that actually paid off?
Oh man 2,800 is nothing when you think about what redo layout costs you. We grabbed a similar Topcon for our concrete crew last year and the old timers stopped complaining real quick once they saw how fast we could shoot grades. Best money we ever spent honestly.
