Concrete mix design from the local plant failed my slab pour in Denver last Tuesday

The slump test looked fine on site but the 28-day compressive test came back at 3,200 psi instead of the spec'd 4,000, and I'm wondering if anyone else has pushed back on their ready-mix supplier over water-to-cement ratios or just eaten the cost of the tear out.

Call your supplier's quality manager and ask for the actual batch tickets first. They should have the water amount recorded, and if they added extra on site that's on them. Also check if they swapped out the cement type or used fly ash without telling you. I've seen Denver plants run lean mixes in winter and it bites you exactly like this.
