Pro tip: a guy at my local shop in Fresno graded my longboxes like a teacher marking tests
I was at the comic shop on Blackstone in Fresno last Saturday digging through the $1 bins when this older dude next to me started flipping through my stack of 40 books without asking. He pulled out a water damaged X-Men issue and held it up like a health inspector, then handed me a sticky note with a grade written on it, a 3.5 out of 10. He did this for every single book in my pile and even sorted them into two stacks, keepers and junk. Turns out he ran a shop in the 90s and now just hangs around grading people's hauls for fun. I walked out with 12 books I planned to buy and only 5 he approved of. Does anyone else have a random regular at their shop who appoints themselves the judge of your collection?
