My grandpa watched me weigh beans on a scale and asked why I ruined coffee
My grandpa came over on Sunday and saw me with my scale and gooseneck kettle, and he just shook his head. He told me he used the same dented percolator for 40 years and never once measured a single scoop. He said coffee was never supposed to be this complicated, you just boil water, dump in grounds, and drink it. I laughed at first, but then I sat there thinking about how I now own 3 grinders and a notebook where I write down brew times. He's not wrong that we turned a simple morning drink into a whole hobby with rules. Anyone else have a family member who thinks we've all lost our minds over this stuff?
