My tap water was ruining my V60 for 2 years before I checked it

Back in 2021 I kept getting this flat, dull cup no matter what beans I bought from the shop on 5th street. I upgraded my grinder, I timed my pours, even bought a gooseneck kettle from a garage sale. Then last March my friend tested my water with a tiny meter and it read 220 ppm hardness, way too high. Now I use a $12 jug of filtered water from the store and the difference is night and day. Has anyone else checked their local water report before blaming their technique?

I heard the same thing from a barista last year, water really matters more than grinders.
