Dropped $130 on a gooseneck kettle and my pour over still tastes like hot dirt
Bought a temp control gooseneck for $130 at a shop in Denver two months back because every video swore it would fix my sour, bitter cups. It did not. My water still hits the grounds too fast, the bed looks like a crater every single time, and I am drinking the same burnt diner coffee I was making with a $12 drip machine. Turns out my grinder is the real problem, the burrs are shot and the grounds come out half dust half boulders. Now I own a fancy kettle and a $30 hand grinder that takes four minutes of cranking for one mug. Do I drop another $150 on a decent burr grinder or just go back to the drip and admit defeat?
