Appreciation post: my bodum french press just clicked after 4 years
I always thought you had to press the plunger down slowly and carefully, so that's what I did every morning for like 4 years. Then last Tuesday my buddy watched me brew and said, "dude, just push it, it's not glass." So I did and the coffee tasted way richer, less bitter, and the grounds settled better. Has anyone else been babying their press for no reason or is it just me?

Not sure 4 years of slow pressing was really ruining anything, but glad you found your coffee religion or whatever. Maybe the richer taste is just because you changed it up and your brain noticed.
