Update: I watched a kid at the library in Austin fix a bug in 5 minutes that took me 3 days.
He just opened the browser tools and looked at the console, something I never did because I was only reading my code. Now I check the console first thing when something breaks. What's the one simple tool you wish you'd started using sooner?

Seriously, it's the digital version of "did you turn it off and on again?" Saves you from looking like a fool 90% of the time.
