Felt like a genius" is a stretch for 1000 lines man... that's barely a week of solid work for most people. Mistakes are just part of learning, you're fine.

Had a buddy years ago who spent three months on a project, maybe two hundred lines of code total, and he felt like he'd climbed Everest. He was so proud of it, showed everyone at work, even framed the printout. Then a junior dev came along and rewrote the whole thing in an afternoon with half the lines. My friend never bragged about line count again.
