Debugging tip I picked up at a hackathon in Detroit last fall
We spent like 6 hours chasing a bug that turned out to be a missing semicolon. One of the mentors, this old guy with a Linux sticker on his laptop, told me to read my code out loud line by line. It felt dumb at first but I caught three typos in 10 minutes. Has anyone else tried that weird trick or am I just easily embarrassed?

Ha, that "read it out loud" trick got me too. I felt like a total goof talking to my screen in the coffee shop but I found an off-by-one error in like two minutes, so I guess the embarrassment was worth it.

Heard a professor mention that trick helps because reading aloud uses a different brain path.
