Debate: Started a free Python course and it said '3 hours' on the tin, took me 8 days to finish - was it the course or me?

Saw a post the other day where someone said "3 hours" in coding courses is code for "3 hours if you already know the material". Those time estimates are always for someone flying through it, not someone learning each step for the first time. Sounds like the course was just being optimistic and you were being thorough.

I read somewhere that course creators just eyeball those times based on their own speed lol.
