Hit 10,000 parts on the same fixture yesterday, changed how I check wear
I run a production shop outside Cleveland and I've always replaced soft jaws every few hundred parts out of habit. Yesterday the counter on that old fixture hit 10,000 cycles and I caught myself waiting for the tolerance drift that never came. Turns out the part material and coolant combo we run keeps things way more stable than I assumed. Now I'm thinking about stretching my inspection intervals to every 2,000 parts instead of 500. Anyone else track cycle counts on a long-run job and find the wear curve is way flatter than the manual says?
