The way people talk about recycling now drives me up a wall
I keep hearing folks say putting something in the blue bin is the same as saving the planet. Back in 2019 I watched my local recycling plant in St. Louis reject a whole truckload because someone tossed in greasy pizza boxes. Has anyone else noticed how much the message has shifted from reduce to just recycle?

Ugh, tell me about it. I read this thing from a waste management study that said something like only 30% of what goes in the blue bin actually gets recycled. The rest ends up in the landfill anyway because of stuff like greasy boxes or people throwing in plastic bags. It feels like they pushed "recycle" so hard that folks forgot "reduce" was even an option.
