My compost bin turned into a raccoon buffet at 2am in Dayton
Two summers ago I was tossing banana peels straight into an open pile behind the garage, and a family of raccoons treated it like an all night diner. After the third night of finding eggshells on the driveway, I switched to a $12 lidded bucket inside and started burying scraps 6 inches down in the garden bed instead. Now the little guys just stare at me from the fence like I ruined their business. Anyone got a cheap trick for keeping critters out without buying one of those $80 tumblers?
