Hit 500 pounds of food waste diverted at the community compost site and it changed my mind about home composting

I always thought home composting was too much work for too little payoff... but signing up at the town's drop-off site last year showed me the real scale. We hit 500 pounds this week just from our block, and that concrete number made me realize even small actions add up. Has anyone else switched their view after seeing a hard number like that?

Numbers hit different. Seeing it stacked up made me actually believe it matters.

Yeah "numbers hit different" is real. I used to joke that my little bucket of peels and leaves was basically a science experiment that didn't matter. But then our site showed 200 pounds from just 10 houses and I had to eat my words. Seeing it physically stacked in those bins made me realize my tiny pile was actually part of something way bigger.
