PSA: That new flexible brush head everyone loves? It got stuck in a flue for me.

I was on a job in a 1920s brick house in Cincinnati, trying to clean a narrow clay liner. The 6 inch flexible poly brush head everyone online raves about got wedged tight about 15 feet up. I pulled and it just bent, wouldn't budge. Had to cut the rods and fish it out with a hook over an hour, totally blowing my schedule. Now I'm back to my stiff wire brush for old flues like that. Anyone else have a tool fail on an older chimney?

I mean, that brush head is basically all I use now. I had a similar jam in an old flue but I just gave the rods a solid twist while pulling and it popped right out. Maybe the technique matters more than the tool.

My old man always said new tools make you forget the old problems they can't solve.
