Brushing a 30 foot flue that had a stuck cap took me 4 hours instead of 45 minutes
Went out to a two story place near Dayton last week and the cap on top of the clay flue was jammed so bad the rods kept binding up around 12 feet. I burned through 3 rods and a whole afternoon trying to work it loose from the bottom before I finally just climbed up and pried it free from the top. So my real question is, do you guys charge a flat rate when a job goes sideways like that or do you bill the extra time?
