Warning: That vintage Sit 'n Spin I found on Craigslist nearly broke my wrist
I used to love spinning myself silly on my mom's old Sit 'n Spin from 1972 (you know, the one with the orange and yellow flowers). Last week I found one at a garage sale in Portland for $10 and thought it would be a fun nostalgia trip. But the plastic base was so brittle it cracked mid-spin and sent me flying into the coffee table - now I'm pretty sure those old toys weren't built to last like they used to. Has anyone else had a scary experience with reviving a childhood toy from the 70s or 80s?

Wait, are you sure it's because the plastic got worse over time or maybe the newer versions were just built cheaper to begin with? I found an old Fisher Price record player from the 70s at a thrift store and that thing is a tank, still works perfectly after I cleaned it up. Sounds like you just got a bad one that was already cracked or stored in a hot garage for decades.

Ha yeah I heard old plastic just holds up better than the stuff they use now.
