That week my old Tonka dump truck almost got me fired

I was clearing a backyard in June and grabbed my kid's old metal Tonka truck to haul some rocks. Boss saw me and said 'are you serious with that thing?' I ended up using it for 3 days straight moving 200 pounds of gravel, and it held up better than the plastic wheelbarrow. Has anyone else tried using actual vintage toys for real work and gotten weird looks?

Yeah, that "are you serious with that thing?" line hits close to home. I got the same look when I used my old metal Tonka to pack down dirt around some fence posts last summer. It's funny how something meant for a kid can outlast the new "real" tools you buy at the store.

My buddy used a vintage Tonka to haul bricks. His boss laughed until the wheelbarrow broke.
