My old slot car set from 1998 still works, but the track is a mess

I dug it out of my parents' garage in Akron last weekend. The cars run fine, but the plastic track pieces have warped so much they won't snap together right. I spent an hour trying to line them up on the floor before giving up. Anyone know a good way to fix warped plastic track, or is it a lost cause?

Man, that plastic is basically a lost cause lol. I tried to fix my old set by leaving the track in the sun, and it just warped into a modern art sculpture. Ended up using a whole roll of duct tape just to make a sad little oval. Pretty sure those track pieces are just destined to become garage decorations forever.
