My old G.I. Joe action figure fell apart during a move last month
I was packing up my old stuff from my parents' attic in Denver when I grabbed my 1985 G.I. Joe figure. The rubber band inside that held his arms and legs together just snapped. His left arm dropped off and his leg went flying. I sat there on the dusty floor for a minute just staring at it. I tried fixing it with a new rubber band I found in a junk drawer but it was too thick and wouldn't fit. So I ordered a pack of replacement bands online for 6 bucks and spent an hour putting him back together. He's on my shelf now but I don't dare pose him again. Has anyone else had an old figure just break down out of nowhere?

Things falling apart is just life reminding us nothing lasts forever.

My dad's old truck finally gave out last week after 250,000 miles and I stood there feeling exactly this - like the universe was just reminding me that everything has an expiration date, even the stuff we think will last forever.
