My 1994 Lego castle set finally got rebuilt at my nephew's birthday party
My mom kept my old 6080 King's Castle in a bin for 30 years. Last Saturday my nephew hit 7 and wanted a castle theme, so I dug it out. We spent 4 hours on the living room floor sorting bricks by color. I forgot how many tiny flags and hinges that set has. The instructions were gone but I found a PDF on my phone. The best part was seeing my nephew figure out the drawbridge mechanism on his own. He got so focused he skipped cake. Has anyone else revisited a set from the 90s and found it holds up better than the new stuff?

Ziplock bags by piece type will save you next time, trust me.

wait so you're saying you actually sort every single bag by piece type before you even start building? like you sit there with a box of ziplocks and separate out all the corner pieces, edge pieces, sky pieces, all that? cause i tried that once and gave up after like ten minutes cause i kept finding pieces that fit into two categories and my brain just shut down. do you do it for every puzzle or just the big ones with a thousand plus pieces?
