Lincoln Logs vs Legos for building real structures

I spent a rainy Saturday rebuilding with both sets from my attic in Cleveland. Lincoln Logs held together better for forts and cabins, while Legos kept collapsing under their own weight. Am I the only one who thinks the old school wood stuff beats plastic for actual building play?

Is it weird that I once used Legos to build a tower so flimsy, it fell and hit my own foot?

My uncle who does timber framing showed me that Lincoln Logs actually teach real structural principles like load distribution and notching, while Legos just snap together with no weight transfer logic. He built a miniature bridge with Lincoln Logs that held 20 pounds before collapsing, something Legos could never do at that scale. That hands-on wood texture and the way the logs naturally settle into place makes Lincoln Logs way better for understanding how actual buildings work.
