I thought those old Lego sets were just for little kids

Found my old 1999 Lego Star Wars podracer set in my parents' attic and built it again last weekend. I was sure it would feel cheap and simple, but the engineering in those old kits is actually pretty clever. The way the engine greebles click together is still satisfying. Anyone else pick up a toy from twenty years back and find it holds up better than you thought?
