Found out my old Bumbleball from 1998 is worth almost $200 now

I was cleaning out my parents attic and looked up my old Bumbleball on eBay. How do these plastic toys end up being collectibles while my expensive video games are basically worthless now?

That Bumbleball thing is weird. $200 for a plastic toy from 1998 seems crazy to me. My old PS1 games are worth maybe ten bucks now. It really just comes down to what people want to collect and what sticks in their memory I guess.
