Finally compared my old Lincoln Logs set to the new plastic ones my nephew has

I pulled out my wooden Lincoln Logs from the 1980s last weekend to show my nephew. Then he showed me his newer set his mom bought at Target and it's all thin plastic pieces that barely stay together. My old set has that real wood smell and the notches actually lock into place when you press down. Has anyone else run into old wooden toys being way more durable than the modern versions?

Ngl, hit those with mineral oil every few months and they'll outlast anything modern.
