That week my car broke down three times on the same grocery run

Last Tuesday I was standing in the express lane at the Publix on 4th Street trying to buy milk and bread, and my car had died twice already that day. First time was leaving my apartment at 7am, battery just gave up. Got a jump from my neighbor. Second time was after work, same thing, had to call AAA and wait 45 minutes. Third time was in the parking lot right after I paid for my stuff. I just stood there holding my gallon of milk watching the cashier scan other people's items, thinking about how I had $12 left until payday and no way to get home. The guy behind me offered to give me a ride and I almost cried. Has anyone else had a week where everything just piled on at once?

That neighbor offering you a ride in that moment, that's the kind of thing that restores your faith in people. Your story reminds me of a time I had three separate appliances break down in the same month, the washer, the fridge, and the water heater. You start to feel like the universe is testing you, or maybe just messing with you for sport. It's those times when you're down to your last dollars that every little thing feels magnified. I hope you're in a better spot now with the car situation, those breakdowns always seem to happen at the worst possible moment.

Yeah honestly I used to think bad luck was random but now I'm not so sure. Ever have a month like that?
