Shoutout to the guy who lets people merge at the last second in the checkout line
I know the popular take is that people who hop into a different register at the last second are the worst, but I watched a guy at the Kroger on Beechmont let a lady with two screaming kids cut in front of him at 5:47pm on a Friday, and I felt like I saw a unicorn. The whole line behind me was grumbling about it, saying she should have picked a shorter lane like everyone else, but she had 4 items and he had maybe 30. I keep a mental tally of this stuff when I'm stuck in line, and in the last 3 trips I've seen zero other people do it. What I don't get is why being mad at that lady is the default when the store only had 2 registers open on a Friday evening. It's not a moral failing to need help, it's a store failing to staff up. Am I the only one who thinks the anger is pointed at the wrong person here?
