That one power stretcher rental... a homeowner caught me in a lie

Pulled up to a $2.4M house in Scottsdale last Tuesday and forgot my power stretcher at the shop, so I tried to use a knee kicker for a 20-foot hallway. The owner stood there watching me sweat for like 10 minutes, then asked why my seams looked wavy, and I had to admit I was cutting corners. Has anyone else had a client call them out mid-job over a missing tool, or am I the only one who's done something this dumb?
