I was power stretching wrong for 10 years, a tiny wrinkle near the door clued me in

Last Tuesday I finished a living room in Modesto and there was this 2 inch ripple by the sliding door that wouldn't flatten no matter what. I kept re-stretching, and finally I watched my helper start from the middle of the wall instead of the corner like I always did. Turns out I'd been anchoring my knee kicker too close to the door frame, which threw off the tension across the whole room. Since I switched to starting 4 feet from the wall and working out, I've had zero callbacks in 3 weeks. Has anyone else had a stubborn spot that taught them a better routine?

Yeah, been there. I had a hallway that kept bubbling near the baseboard for months until I realized I was stretching parallel to the seam instead of at an angle. Switched to a 45 and it laid down perfect. That door frame thing makes sense though. Once you figure out the starting point, everything else just falls into place. I still catch myself rushing and having to redo it.
