Never gave hand planes a chance until this cabinet job changed my mind

I always figured hand tools were too slow for modern work. Then I had a job making a small cabinet with tight joints. The power saw left rough edges that needed fixing. I tried a hand plane on a whim, and it smoothed everything out clean. It took a bit longer, but the result was way better. Now I see that hand tools have their place for fine finishing. I even bought a better plane and keep it sharp. This small shift has made my projects look more polished.

Ever notice how using a hand tool forces you to slow down and check your work? That focus often catches small mistakes before they become big problems. It's not just about smoothing wood, it's about a different way of working.

That slowing down just wastes time on tight schedules.
