Dropped $340 on a Castle pocket hole jig for cabinet builds, should've done it way sooner
I was drilling angled holes by hand for 6 cabinet jobs and blowing out the face frames on oak constantly. Anybody else got a tool that cost a chunk of change but paid for itself on the very next job?
I bought a $200 Kreg Foreman about 3 years back and used to think the cheaper jigs were just fine for what I did. Then I built a set of maple cabinet doors and the drill guide on my old setup wandered just enough to ruin 4 rails in one afternoon. That was like $60 of wood gone plus a whole day wasted. The Foreman has a clamp and a real motor so every hole goes straight and fast, no measuring, no wobble. It paid for itself on the first kitchen I knocked out after buying it, probably saved me 6 hours of work. Now I tell people to just get the good one from the start instead of fighting the cheap stuff for a year like I did.
