My resume rewrite turned into a two-week project because of one old job

I decided to update my resume for a marketing manager role and thought it would take an afternoon. The problem was describing my time at a small startup called BrightPath from 2018, where my role was a messy mix of duties. I spent over 14 days just trying to condense that experience into three clear bullet points that actually showed impact. Has anyone else gotten stuck for way too long on how to frame a past job?

Yeah, a buddy of mine had that happen. He was at some tiny app company where his title was "Operations Lead" but he did everything from customer emails to fixing the printer. Took him forever to stop writing the novel of all his tasks and just say he cut support ticket times in half. Felt like he was doing archaeology on his own life.

Man, that hits home. My last job was basically "whatever needs doing" person too. I spent more time explaining what I did than actually doing it.
