Netflix's '1899' got killed after ONE season and I finally saw the numbers that explain it
I was digging through a TV ratings blog last week and found out 1899 pulled in 79 million hours watched in its first month, which sounds huge until you see it cost around $60 million to make and lost half its viewers by episode 3. Everyone in this group swears it died because Netflix hates good sci-fi, but the drop off was brutal and the show took forever to set up its mystery. So here's my real question: does a slow burn story still deserve a season 2 pass when the numbers tank that hard, or should we just accept that some of our favorites get cut for boring money reasons?
