Talking with a park ranger about tent care changed how I pack up camp
She told me she always dries her tent in the shade before storing it, even for 10 minutes after a rainy trip. I used to just stuff mine wet and hope for the best, has anyone else noticed a big difference doing this?

Wait, you used to stuff it wet? I thought everyone at least shook the rain off before packing up. That's wild she dries it even for just 10 minutes, but I guess that little bit of care makes a huge difference in the long run.

Totally agree, I was the same way for years! Just stuffed it in soaking wet and thought that was fine until I got a moldy tent after one trip. Now I hang it up in the garage for even just 15 minutes before packing it away, and it's made such a difference. My sister thinks I'm crazy for it, but my gear lasts way longer than hers does now. Have you noticed the same thing with your own gear?
