Tried fixing a sticky aperture with lighter fluid, then naphtha, and wow was that a mistake
Spent two hours on a sticky Canon FD 50mm f1.8 last week in my garage and the lighter fluid left a greasy film that made it worse, while the naphtha cleaned it up in ten minutes with no residue. If you have been using lighter fluid on blades, stop, it leaves junk behind. What are you all using for oil soaked apertures?
