Leica M3 shutter curtain pinhole showed up 2 weeks after a $340 CLA, do I eat the cost or push back?
Sent a customer's M3 in for a CLA back in March at a shop in Denver and quoted them $340, then two weeks after they got it back a small pinhole showed up in the first curtain right in the middle of the frame. My gut says I should just replace the curtain at my own cost since it's my name on the invoice, but part of me thinks that curtain was already on its way out and no amount of cleaning would have stopped it. Curious what you guys do when a fresh repair fails right after it leaves the bench, do you eat it or do you talk to the customer first?
