Cleaning sensors with homemade solution reduced my chemical use big time

I recently started mixing my own sensor cleaning fluid from isopropyl alcohol and distilled water. It cuts down on buying single-use plastic bottles from the store. I got the idea from an old repair manual and decided to give it a shot. Now, I use reusable microfiber cloths and a small spray bottle I refill. It works just as well as the branded stuff, but costs way less and creates less trash. My workshop has way fewer empty containers lying around, which feels good. Plus, I can tweak the mix for different sensor types. Honestly, it's a small change that makes a real difference for the planet and my wallet lol.

My cousin cleaned his PlayStation with a homemade vinegar mix after spilling soda on it. He was super nervous about wrecking it, kind of like what @sarah950 said about ruining gear. Tbh, he looked up a proper tutorial and took his time with it. The console still works perfectly years later, which really surprised me. Ngl, that whole thing made me way more open to trying simple home fixes for other stuff. It's not always about saving the world, but just not being scared to try a smarter way first.

Seriously? You're saving what, like two plastic bottles a year? Feels like people pat themselves on the back for the smallest stuff now. The planet's got bigger problems than your little spray bottle. It works for you, fine, but let's not act like it's a major win.

That sounds like a great way to ruin expensive gear.
