A homeowner in Phoenix told me his old coax run was 'good enough' for 4K streaming
He argued the existing line was fine, but I had to explain how signal loss over distance and older fittings can cause pixelation. It made me think about how we balance customer pushback with doing the job right. How do you handle a situation where a client resists a needed replacement?

Yeah, I've had that exact same argument about old coax.

Honestly, old coax gets a bad rap it doesn't deserve. That stuff was built like a tank and could handle a ton of interference that would kill a modern cable. The connectors were simple and you could fix them with basic tools. People forget how reliable it was for decades of service. Upgrading was necessary for speed, but we traded away some real durability for convenience.

But that old coax is a real headache with modern gear. The signal loss on long runs totally kills 4K streams, and those old fittings get corroded. Sometimes you just have to push for the new cable to avoid constant callbacks.
