A customer's comment made me rethink how I seal exterior drops

Last month a guy in Medford pointed out that my weatherproofing was peeling after just 2 years on his house. He said it looked like I used silicone instead of a proper UV-rated sealant. He was right, I was just grabbing whatever tube was cheapest at the supply house. Have you guys switched to a specific brand for exterior connectors?

Lexel is the only one that sticks for me.

My dad's been using the same tube of Lexel for like 8 years now to patch his gutters and it's STILL flexible and holding strong. That's wild to me because I've tried Gorilla Glue and even Shoe Goo on stuff and it either gets brittle or just peels off after a season or two. Lexel is the only thing I've seen that doesn't act like it's gonna give up after a few hot summers and freezing winters. It's kind of like how I feel about cheap sneakers versus spending a little more on ones that actually last. Most people keep trying the quick fix but I've learned the hard way that you gotta go with what actually sticks for the long haul.
