A customer in a small town said something that made my whole week

I was doing a standard install in a little place called Millersburg last Thursday, running a new line to an older house. The homeowner was this older guy who watched me work for a bit. When I was done, he just looked at the clean wall fish and said, 'You made that look easy, son. I was sure you'd have to tear up my wall.' I told him it's all about the right tools and taking your time. He shook my hand and said real skill is quiet like that. It's not often you get that kind of thanks, you know? Has a simple compliment from a customer ever stuck with you like that?

Used to think the loudest praise came from the biggest jobs. Had a lady last month just watch me fix a tricky fitting, then she said "I could tell you actually cared about doing it right." That simple line stuck with me more than any tip ever did.
