I finally solved the drawer slide hangup that ate a whole week
Customer in Phoenix wanted soft-close slides on a 30 inch drawer bank, but every set I installed kept sticking at the last 2 inches. Turns out the cabinet box was racked, out of square by almost 3/16 of an inch, and I never checked until I'd pulled the hardware three times. Took me five days before I grabbed a framing square and found the issue, then shimmed the box and it slid perfect. Anyone else waste time on hardware before checking the carcass for square?

Five days on slides when a square would have caught it in five minutes seems like a lot, but I've also been guilty of blaming hardware first. Out of square by 3/16 is pretty minor, and plenty of cabinets that are a little off still work fine with the right slides. Maybe you just got a bad batch of slides, and the square thing was a coincidence.
