TIL my bullet journal habit actually started because of a broken calculator

I was digging through old boxes in my parents' garage last weekend and found my high school TI-84 from like 2009. The screen is cracked and half the buttons are missing or stuck. It hit me that I started keeping those little pocket notebooks with daily to-do lists back in senior year because my calculator kept dying and I got tired of borrowing other people's. I never connected the dots until now that bullet journaling is literally just my old backup system that stuck around. Has anyone else realized some random everyday item accidentally started their whole system?

Stick a paperclip in the battery slot, that's how I revived mine.
