My favorite pen leaked all over my weekly spread last Tuesday

I came back from a coffee break and found a blue ink blob right over my Monday tasks. Had to scrape it off with a razor blade and rewrite everything on a sticky note. Has anyone found a good waterproof pen that doesn't smudge?

Scrape it off with a razor blade"? That's some serious dedication right there. I would've just cried and accepted my fate with the blue blob, honestly. Your mileage may vary on waterproof pens, but I've had pretty good luck with the Pilot Acroball if you want something that stays put.

My friend actually tried the razor blade thing once on a vintage desk. She ended up scratching the finish so bad it looked worse than the ink stain. Tbh the Acroball is solid, @owens.willow, but I swear by the Uniball Signo a friend left at my place and it survived a full coffee spill somehow. Blue blob fate is real though, I would've just put a sticker over it and called it a day.

Scrape it off with a razor blade" used to sound like genius advice to me too. I actually defended that method in another thread a few years back, swore by it for getting dried paint off glass. Then I tried it on a wooden nightstand with a pen mark and yeah, same result as your friend. Gouged the hell out of the finish and learned the hard way that wood ain't glass. Totally changed my mind on that tip.
