My garbage disposal died with a half-eaten burrito trapped inside
Last Tuesday night, the thing started making this horrible grinding noise and then just stopped, leaving a truly cursed situation in the sink. I had to fish out the soggy mess by hand, which saved me a $200 plumber bill but cost me my dignity and my appetite. Has anyone else had to rescue a meal from the jaws of a broken appliance?

Read a guy on Reddit once had to use chopsticks to save his leftover lo mein from a disposal.

Dude, I've been there. Used a pair of tongs to fish a meatball out of the garbage disposal once. Didn't save the whole dinner but that one meatball was worth the effort.
I learned my lesson. Now I always put a strainer in the sink drain before I start anything. Saves all the bits and pieces from going down.
Also, I stopped dumping leftover noodles down the disposal at all. They just turn into paste and clog everything anyway.
