Saw a video saying you can get a free city tour from a local university student

I was looking up cheap things to do in Lisbon and found a travel blog post from last month. It said some universities there have programs where students give free walking tours for practice. Has anyone tried something like this in other cities and did it feel safe?

Actually, those student guides are usually volunteers, not really practicing. They just want to share their city. Did one in Berlin and it was awesome. What city are you looking at?

Oh, that sounds like a great deal until you're the practice. I did one in Prague and the poor kid forgot half the historical dates. Still, it was free and felt perfectly safe, just a bit awkward.
