Remember when travel guides were just a beat up Lonely Planet someone left in a hostel?

I used to plan whole trips around a single wrinkled map and word of mouth from strangers in hostels. Now I'm scrolling through 15 different apps before I even book a flight and I swear it takes longer than the actual trip. Anyone else feel like we lost something when we stopped just showing up?

Ngl the planning phase has become way too complicated. Miss those days of just winging it with a beat up guidebook.
