Frozen veggie bags are false economy, lost $12 last week

I bought three big bags of frozen mixed vegetables on sale and they all turned to mush by day 3, even in the freezer. Fresh carrots and cabbage from the farmer's market lasted me two full weeks for less money, so why do I keep falling for the convenience? Has anyone else had better luck with specific frozen brands or is it all a scam?
